2027 BYU Expeditions Employment Dates

Leadership Spring Social: Saturday, March 6, 2027

All hired for leadership positions (Coordinator, Health Coordinator, and Lead Counselor) may attend this optional social to get to know each other and learn basic leadership principles.

Staff Orientation: May 18–21, 2027

All hired in any capacity (Coordinator, Health Coordinator, Lead Counselor, and Counselor) must attend this mandatory Staff Orientation in person. Check-in will take place at the BYU Conference Center, 770 E University Parkway, Provo, UT.

2027 BYU Expeditions Summer Calendar

Dates below indicate days when participants will attend. BYU Expeditions employees will need to report to work on Monday morning before participants arrive. However, if flight travel to sessions is required, that travel will take place on the Saturday prior to session start dates.

**Indicates peak weeks (highest program staffing needs week). The employer acknowledges the possibility that some individuals' availability may fall outside peak weeks or otherwise fail to align with BYU Expeditions program needs. While we welcome applications from individuals with availability outside peak weeks, please be advised that session assignments are made according to BYU Expeditions program needs and individuals whose availability is or becomes low may receive no assignments and therefore no pay, even if hired.

Notification of Employment

If you have gone through all steps of the hiring process (including an in-person or Zoom interview), you will receive notification of decisions via email in one of two ways:

  • Email indicating you have a contract to accept. This means you were selected. Click on the link in the email to accept a training contract.
  • Email indicating you were not selected. Unfortunately, our office is not able to provide individual feedback as to why an applicant is not selected.

Employment Authorization

All persons hired will be required to verify their identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete required employment eligibility verification forms upon hire. Be aware that simply having a passport does NOT of itself constitute sufficient authorization to work in the US or Canada. Please note that the employer is not offering employment with BYU Expeditions as an internship, work experience, OPT, or any other visa-related opportunity and will not be able to provide visa sponsorship for this position in the United States of America.
